Athletic Devepment Program

Students at Newbridge Academy choose from either our daily Athletic Development Program or daily Hockey Elite Program.  Both programs are designed and taught by professional, qualified and experiened instructors.  Each program provides a hour every day of structured sport training and healthy lifestyle awareness.  Students in grades three-nine also participate in our daily Active Living Program, which encompasses a variety of physical activities, nutrition, teamwork, and sport skills.  Overall, students in grades Jr. Primary-Two receive approximately 1 hour of structured physical activity per day and students in grades three-nine receive approximately 2 hours of structured physical activity per day.

Our daily Athletic Development Program (ADP) includes a variety of sports and training that vary per term.  Some sports include: weekly swimming lessons (taught by qualified Sackville Sports Stadium Aquatics Staff), Skating lessons (Jr. Primary-Two), Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton, Golf, Lacrosse, Football, Cricket, Baseball, Wrestling, Martial Arts, Gymnastics, Yoga, Track and Field, Field Hockey, Ultimate Frisbee, Handball, Hiking, Rock Climbing, Cross Country Skiing, and a variety of fun sport outings including bowling, laser tag, sledding, snowshoeing, downhill skiing, etc.

ADP also included fitness and nutrition counselling by experiened, qualified staff.  Students participate in programs suited to meet their fitness and nutritional needs and are offered the tools to lead a healthy, balanced lifestyle.
